Sue Pearce

Sue Pearce

Trustee

Sue Pearce worked for the Probation Service for 33 years, initially as a Probation officer then in various management roles before leaving at Director level. She gained experience in working with offenders in many different ways and developed particular interests and expertise in evidenced-based offending behaviour programmes; work with perpetrators and survivors of domestic abuse; and with female offenders. She was fortunate to continue this work on a national and international level. As part of a Senior Management team she held specific responsibility for strategy, budgets and operational performance covering 180 staff.  Sue currently works independently as a consultant, trainer and mediator, across the public, private and not for profit sectors. Having been aware of and supported Elizabeth Fry Charity in different capacities since 1986 Sue was pleased to join the Board of Trustees when she left full-time employment. As a small charity, trustees (as well as fulfilling their accountability and strategic functions) work in very practical ways alongside a very hard working staff group. Recent years have seen considerable challenges and changes have been required.  Sue is proud of the way that Elizabeth Fry Charity has grown and adapted over the years to continue providing a responsive and effective opportunity to enable female offenders to help themselves towards change. Sue sits on the Building and Health & Safety Committee.
