Open Day 2018

We had an Open Day on 6 July offering a chance for Friends of Elizabeth Fry Charity to get to know us a little better, getting an opportunity to talk with residents and celebrating our successes with us.

We had Herjeet Randhawa from Reading Voluntary Action present us with a certificate for the Safe and Sound Governance Mark, and demonstrates that we are meeting all the good practice requirements of Charities. Also, we had Vicky Maidment-Vint (Area AP Manager for Thames Valley and EE Assessor) present us with the Enabling Environment Award, as we have met critical standards in being able to provide the most enabling and supportive environment we can for all who enter the premises.

Our Chair, Tony Rolley, unveiled a bench made for the AP in memory of Mary Phillips acting as a reminder for old and new friends of the work and commitment that she put into Elizabeth Fry Charity.

Finally, we had a small raffle, with proceeds going towards the Resident Activity Fund, with several people winning some great gifts donated by friends and Trustees!

I think everyone who attended would agree that this years Open Day was a big success!
